Introducing ArchaeoliSafe
We won the Innovation Project Award at the Iowa State Championship!
While meeting with experts at the University of Iowa, our team discovered a major flaw in modern archaeology: outdated and isolated databases. Globally, databases track over 1 billion artifacts, yet they remain largely overlooked. Because each institution uses its own unique system and data format, sharing information is incredibly difficult. This lack of centralization and context-building tools slows down research and hinders collaboration across the archaeological community.

ArchaeoliSafe automatically standardizes all incoming data, creating a centralized hub that ensures consistency across institutions.
We implemented credential-verified licensing and enhanced encryption to protect sensitive archaeological data.
Our AI interface automatically searches for related artifacts and compiles historical context to speed up research.
Our prototype is a functional web application that helps institutions manage excavated sites and analyze findings using built-in AI tools.
We presented ArchaeoliSafe to archaeologists at the Putnam Museum, University of Iowa, and Iowa State Capitol, refining it based on their insights.
By combining software engineering, artificial intelligence, and expert feedback, ArchaeoliSafe aims to modernize how archaeologists store and share data. While still a prototype, it demonstrates a secure, standardized, and efficient solution to a real-world problem.
